The National Science day was celebrated on Feb 28, 2023 at Sindhi College, Kempapura, Bengaluru. Vice principal of the College welcomed the guests and the audience. Sri Hiriyanna, former Scientist ISRO, was the chief guest. He spoke on “Science and Mathematics in daily life” with some numerical problems. His talk was an interactive session; The Students of the College actively participated in this interactive session. Prof G Venkatesh spoke on the significance of National Science day and the life and contribution of Raman. He explained the concept of scattering of light and the Raman effect. Dr B S Srikanta, Director of the Sindhi College spoke about KPA and its objectives. A faculty of the Sindhi College thanked the gathering.
The International day of Light was celebrated in association with Maharani’s Cluster University at the Maharani’s Women’s Science College on May 16, 2023. A student of M.Sc., Physics welcomed the gathering. Prof G Venkatesh spoke on “Light and light technologies”. Prof S P Basavaraju gave a lecture on “LASER and their applications”. The faculty of UG and PG Physics were present. The talks were well received by the students and the staff members of Physics. Another M.Sc., Physics student thanked the gathering.
